Personal Guidance offers steady support and clarity when life feels heavy, confusing, or stuck.
People often come to me because they recognise parts of themselves in my story and want guidance from someone who understands burnout and life transitions through lived experience. My work blends reflective questioning with practical, experience-led insight. I don’t just ask questions – I walk alongside you, helping to make sense of where you are and what might help next.
I bring over 35 years of corporate experience, firsthand experience of burnout and recovery, and a grounded, practical approach shaped by real life. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, unsure, and exhausted – and I also know what helps when thinking clearly feels hard.
Most of what I share is free. My blog and resources are there to give people a starting point when they’re not sure where to begin. Sometimes, though, reading and reflection aren’t enough. When you’re feeling overloaded or stuck, personal guidance can help reduce the noise and create a way forward that feels manageable.
What I Mean By Personal Guidance
Personal Guidance sits between mentoring and coaching.
A typical coaching approach is primarily question-led, helping people find their own answers. A typical mentoring approach draws on lived experience, offering perspective and insight from someone who’s been there before.
Personal Guidance blends both. It combines lived experience with reflective questioning, without the pressure to perform, optimise, or have everything figured out. When you’re in burnout or deep overwhelm, being left to generate clarity through questions alone can feel exhausting. What often helps most is having someone who understands the terrain walk alongside you, gently lighting the path.

| Structure | Structures and outcome driven | Informal | Flexible and human |
| Power Dynamic | Peer-based | Senior-junior | Side-by-side |

How Personal Guidance Can Help:
This kind of support can be especially helpful if:
- You’re burnt out, overwhelmed, or emotionally flat
- You feel stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand
- You’re navigating a major life or work transition
- You want clarity and direction, without pressure or quick fixes
Personal Guidance creates space to understand what’s really going on for you and take next steps that feel doable – without pushing yourself harder when you’re already depleted.
My Approach:
I draw on lived experience, reflective questioning, and practical tools only where they’re genuinely helpful. While I use structured planning frameworks to help create a roadmap, I treat them as a starting point – never a one-size-fits-all rulebook.
There’s no pressure to have answers, move faster than you’re ready, or “fix” yourself. We work at a pace that respects where you are, focusing on clarity and realistic next steps.
People I work with leave our sessions with more clarity, feeling understood rather than judged, and with a steadier sense of direction about what comes next.

The Burnout Recovery Journey
Burnout recovery is rarely linear. Most people move through different phases of awareness, stabilisation, healing, identity shifts, and rebuilding over time. At a high level, this roadmap shows what that journey can look like.
Regulation, self-awareness, boundaries, support, and self-compassion are all muscles you build over time. The stronger those muscles become, the more agency you can create – and the closer you get to living a life that feels like it belongs to you, rather than one that keeps pulling you along.
