The Story of Nostos Nest

The word nostos comes from ancient Greek and means a return home after a long journey – not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. It’s about coming back to yourself.

The nest symbolises comfort, warmth, and safety – a soft place to rest, reflect, and rebuild.

Together, Nostos Nest is about nurturing your return to what matters. Letting go of what no longer fits. Creating space to think, feel, grow – and reconnect with your true self.

Nostos Nest began as a blog – and it will always be the heart of what I do. A place for honest reflections on burnout, sobriety, midlife change, and workplace culture. Over time, it’s grown into more: a home for practical tools and services that support both individuals and workplaces on their journey toward wellbeing, clarity, and connection.

This space reflects my own journey – letting go of burnout, quitting drinking, finding balance, and learning to live with more intention and self-compassion. My hope is that it becomes a soft place for others to land too, as they navigate their own path “home.”

The Mission

At Nostos Nest, I believe in a world where work and life support each other – so people and organisations can grow in healthy, meaningful ways.

  • I help organisations build mentally healthy workplaces that truly see and support their people.
  • I help individuals take ownership of their wellbeing and growth, with practical tools, guidance, and stories that speak to real life.

At Nostos Nest, I believe in bridging the gap between business and being – so together we can create spaces where people can perform at their best without losing themselves, and businesses thrive because of that.

The work is grounded in three pillars:

  • Real Life – the blog: honest reflections on burnout, sobriety, identity, midlife change, and workplace culture.
  • Real People – guidance and tools to support mental health, self-awareness, and personal growth.
  • Real Workplaces – practical offerings to help organisations create space for real conversations and healthier cultures.

Vision & Values

To create a more human world by helping people and workplaces reconnect with themselves, through honest storytelling and practical tools for real life change.

Authenticity

Truth over polish. Real stories, real experiences, and real conversations matter more than performance or perfection

Integrity

Clear words, followed by action. Trust is built slowly through consistency and honesty.

Sustainability

Wellbeing matters. Work, content, and support should be able to last over time, without burnout, urgency, or over-functioning.

Compassion

Burnout, change, and uncertainty are deeply human experiences. Space is made for complexity, not rushed solutions.

Accessibility

Support should feel approachable and attainable. Small, practical tools and thoughtful guidance can make a real difference.

I’m Michelle Stalimeros, and I’m in my mid-50s – on what I call the other side of burnout.

That means I’ve lived it. I know what it’s like to push through exhaustion, feel overwhelmed, and question everything. I’ve also navigated major life changes: quitting drinking, menopause, redundancy, and redefining what success means. This isn’t theory – it’s real life.

Before creating Nostos Nest, I spent over 14 years at Salesforce in a range of leadership and operational roles: professional services engagement management, project management, business operations, and customer success. I worked closely with enterprise clients on complex digital transformations – and was proud to receive a Manages for Success global recognition award.

But the work I’m proudest of? The mental health advocacy I did behind the scenes. I co-founded a global mental health employee resource group, partnered with Health & Safety and People & Culture teams, and helped build psychologically safer workplaces. I also became a licensed Mental Health First Aid, instructor, and delivered training across the organisation – equipping people with the tools to better support themselves and each other. That work was honoured with a Woman of Impact global recognition award.

Nostos Nest is the next chapter – a space where I bring together all of that experience: the strategic, the personal, and the deeply human. It’s where I help others feel seen, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change – in themselves, and in the systems they work and live within.

The Nostos Nest blog is where it all began: reflections, lessons, and real stories to offer comfort, clarity, and hope.

I write about:

  • Recovering from Burnout – healing from the inside out
  • Embracing Midlife Changes – shifting identity, body, and purpose
  • Quitting Drinking – one of the most transformative steps I took
  • Finding Joy After Struggle – letting go of perfectionism
  • Self-Love and Balance – boundaries, compassion, and ease
  • Workplace Culture and Mental Health – supporting people in environments not always built for wellbeing

I know what it’s like to feel exhausted and unsure what comes next. But I also know that if you slow down and really listen to yourself, healing is possible.

You don’t need to have it all together. You don’t need to be “perfect” to start again.

Wherever you are on your journey, Nostos Nest is a place to breathe, reflect, and begin.
